Lake Victoria
Lake Victoria is one of the Great Lakes in Africa and it’s the third biggest lake in the world covering an area of about 68,800 square kilometers (26,560 mi²) in size. The lake is located in Tanzania and Uganda with a small part extending into Kenya. Lake Victoria is the main reservoir of the Nile River and is the largest fresh water lake in Africa. Lake Victoria is also known for its abundance of fish, these fish are exported by local fishermen and traders. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to some of Africa’s most endangered animals. It is a place for gorilla tracking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns. The park is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and is situated along the Democratic Republic of Congo border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the western Rift Valley. Many species of birds and butterflies can also be seen here and many endangered species, including the mountain gorilla.
Kidepo National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks. It covers an area of about 1,442 square kilometers. Kidepo Valley National Park has breathtaking Savannah landscapes, which end in rugged horizon. The vegetation is open tree Savannah which varies much in structure and composition. Mountain forest controls some of the high places, while areas along the Lorupei River support dense Acacia geradi forest. The flora and fauna of the park is more typical of Kenya than the rest of Uganda, such as lion, cheetah, leopard, bat-eared fox, giraffe and almost 500 bird species.
Kampala
Kampala is the capital city of Uganda. While in Kampala, you have a chance to visit the Uganda Museum and Kasubi tombs, where the remains of the Kings of Buganda are buried;this is the major tourist site. Also one can see Nommo art gallery, National Theatre and Cathedrals like Rubaga and Namirembe as well as the Bahai temple.
