Overview

This trip will take you 5 days to visit Queen Elizabeth and Mgahinga National Parks. Queen Elizabeth National Park forms the most diverse ecosystems in Africa. The Park is the home of the famous tree climbing lions, topi, Uganda Kob, hyenas, elephants, baboons, hippos and a lot of primates like Chimpanzees and more. Launch trip will also be done along kazinga channel between Lake Geoge and Edward. Mgahinga National Park, the Park has gorillas that every tourist would like to see. Still Mgahinga also has avolcanoe that offers 3 challenging peaks that are interesting to climb. Mgahinga National Park also has a lot of mammals and Birds to offer.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National park

After breakfast in the morning head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop over at the Equator for photos and some crafts. Then proceed to the park. After lunch go for an evening game drive where you will see crater lakes. Queen Elizabeth National park is the most popular tourist destination in Uganda and is one of the oldest national parks in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth National park is located in western Uganda in districts of Kamwenge, Kasese, Bushenyi and Rukungiri. Overnight at Mweya safari lodge/ jacana safari lodge/ Queen Elizabeth safari lodge/ samba safari camp.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Go for agame drive in the Park after breakfast, you may see the big five; lions, Buffalo, Elephants, Giant forest hog, Waterbucks, Bushbucks and Kobs. You may also see birds like jacana, shoebill and pelican. After lunch go for a boat cruise along Kazinga channel, you may see crocodiles and hippos. An overnight at Mweya safari lodge/ jacana safari lodge/ Queen Elizabeth safari lodge/ samba safari camp.

Day3:Queen Elizabeth National Park to Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast in the morning, head to Mgahinga National park in southwestern corner of Uganda, the Park covers the northern slopes of the three northernmost Virunga Volcanoes which include Mt. Muhavura (4,127 m), Mt. Sabinyo (3,645 m) and Mt. Gahinga (3,474 m), The Park is one of the only two parks in Uganda that offer habitat for the endangered Mountain gorilla.Have Dinner and overnight at mount Mgahinga lodge/ Travellers rest hotel/ Nkuringo safari lodge.

Day4: Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga

After an early morning breakfast, go for briefing and registration for gorilla tracking. You will have packed lunch and water.Fitness here is required in order to do the walking through the thick jungle and dirty forest. Other primates may also be seen such asblack and white colobus monkey andgolden monkey. Come back at the lodge for lunch. If you have energy in the evening you may go for guided walk and visit the Garama cave which is 342m long and 14 deep. It’s one of the caves where the Batwa lived and fought their neighbors the Bantu. Come back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at mount Mgahinga lodge/ Travellers rest hotel/ Nkuringo safari lodge.

Day5: Return to Kampala

After a morning breakfast head to Kampala. Stop at Mbarara Hotel for lunch and then after proceed to Kampala.The Safari Price quotations include: Transport with fuel, an English-Speaking driver, Water within the Vehicle, accommodation, park fees, boat fee and all meals. It however doesn’t include alcoholic drinks, laundry, and any additional personal purchases.
